The Apprentice and Trainee Training Fund (ATTF) program is the TAS Government Training Initiative for Apprenticeships and Traineeships. The fund provides grants to eligible registered training organisations to subsidise the cost of delivering training and assessment and associated learner support services to Tasmanian apprentices and trainees.

Apprenticeships and traineeships combine on-the-job training with formal study to provide you with:

Key Differences
Traditional vocational training areas such as carpentry, construction, or hairdressing are typically apprenticeships, while non-traditional areas such as warehousing and retail are traineeships. Both provide nationally recognised training under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
Training Arrangements
- Traineeships typically run for 12-24 months
- Workplace training with formal study through an RTO
- Training plans outline your learning path and assessment requirements
Support Services
Australian Apprenticeship Connect Providers (AACP) offer free information and support, including:
- Guidance on becoming an apprentice or trainee
- Advice on available qualifications
- Help with training contracts
- Assistance with government incentives
- Progress monitoring throughout your program

Traineeships via The Apprentice and Trainee Training Fund (ATTF)
FTS offers the following courses through Skills Tasmania’s ATTF program. Flexible Training Solutions is an ERTO (Endorsed Registered Training Organisation) with an Apprentice and Trainee Training Fund agreement. Participants (new entrants and existing workers) that are eligible for ATTF and on a registered and approved training contract will pay an Enrolment/Gap Fee listed below and be funded (subsidised by the Tasmanian State government training initiative) for the remainder of the costs. Those not eligible or enrolling in a non-funded course will pay the Fee For Service rate, please contact us for more information on Fee For Service pricing.
